you can love right, you can love wrong...ROLOGUE
7TH YEAR IN HOGWARTSheartbreaks. The sound of her footsteps echoed in the hall as he ran in her direction. She tried to ignore him, but nothing could do it. He was there, running after her, and although she wanted to do as if he was not there, as if she didn't care, it was impossible. She cared. More than she wanted to admit to her own self.
"Wait!" he yelled, grabbing her left arm and making her spin around. "Julie!"
She tried to avoid his eyes, making sure her face expressed annoyance, and she crossed her arms, closing herself to the conversation he wanted to start.
"I didn't mean to hurt you." he apologized. "You know how I feel for you."
"Sometimes, I wonder." she just let out, trying to keep her voice from shaking.
She dared to look up into his eyes. The pain was real and easy to read and guilt made her swallow subtly, but she was not going to give up. She was not going to forgive him that easily.
"When you grow up, Ronald Weasley, send me an owl."
Turning on her heels, she continued her way. Tears fell on her cheeks as she walked further of him, the only guy she ever gave her heart to, and the only one who ever dropped it and broke it into pieces. He watched her as she left, her back facing him. He filled his lungs, ready to scream his feelings but gave up, letting the air come out in a sigh. He knew he was not exactly boyfriend material. He knew he made mistakes. He knew he just had lost the love of his life.
"I can't believe you, Harry James Potter!"
"Excuse me?"
His heart skipped a beat. Why was she mad at him? None of this was his fault, yet, he was getting all the blame. And coming from the only girl he's ever loved, it was actually very hard to accept.
"He started it, I didn't do anything!"
"So tell me you didn't punch him right in the nose!" she argued, her hands on her hips.
"He had his wand out!" he explained. "He had insulted me!"
"And you just can't resist! You always HAVE to add fuel to the fire!"
"I did not... what?" he couldn't believe it. "You're kidding me, right?"
"He's just insecure! You've never realized that he's jealous of you?"
"Why do you always take his defense?" Harry expressed angrily. "
I'M your boyfriend!"
Silence. Livia's eyes narrowed out of anger, sending a rush of pain inside of him.
"
EX boyfriend." She let out. "You won't make me choose between you two. You'll loose at this game, Harry."
It felt like a knife had been pushed in his chest, the cold blade ripping his heart in pieces. It took him some seconds before he came back to his senses.
"You just chose, Livia." he noted, trying to stop the tears coming to his eyes.
He didn't know if it was out of anger or sadness, but when he managed to turn around and leave, the tears flew freely on his cheeks. He knew he had just lost the love of his life.
1ST YEAR IN HOGWARTScrushes."Just go talk to her." Hermione sighed, restraining herself from rolling her eyes at her new friend.
"Talk to who?"
This time, she sighed louder.
"You've been staring at her for like an hour!" she pointed. "I'm not stupid."
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
Ron's cheeks turned a soft shade of red as he glanced one more time toward the pretty blond.
"Julie's a nice person." Hermione added, ignoring his denial. "You should try to talk to her."
"Thanks, when I need your opinion, I'll ask you." He replied sarcastically. "And I don't even like her."
He turned around looking at his best friend, his head laying on his arm and his eyes shut. Raising his eyebrows, he elbowed him lightly, making Harry's arm move and waking him up suddenly.
"What's wrong with you?"
"What?"
"Why did we befriend her exactly?" Ron whispered, getting closer to the dark haired boy. "She's always putting her nose in my business."
Harry's lips curled. "You should go talk to Julie."
"Thanks. That helps." Ron said bitterly, making Harry laugh.
Shaking his head, Harry's attention moved to the other side of the large room. The long brown haired girl he had noticed on the first day at Hogwarts was listening carefully to her best friend and Harry's worst enemy, Draco Malfoy. Harry grimaced subtly and sighed. Everything was telling him that this crush was not going to go anywhere. It would only lead to bad whispers and stupid comments, which is why he has not told anyone about his feelings for her. She pushed her hair behind her shoulder in a fast head movement and he smiled. Why did he have to fall for her? Why was she sorted in Slytherin and why did she befriend Draco, out of all people? It seemed like everything was against him. He'd rather have a crush on a Gryffindor, just like Ron.
Unaware of his best friend's feelings, Ron thought Harry just couldn't understand how he felt. The butterflies in his stomach and the way his heartbeats seemed to make his head throb whenever Julie was near was not something Harry could relate to, or he thought. It was not that easy to get up and go talk to her. She was special, and he wasn't, he knew that. And it was not fair, because he didn't know how he could actually go through the years without being by her side, as cheesy as it sounded.
"We're going to be late." Hermione announced, getting up.
The two boys followed her reluctantly, both looking in different directions and both hoping that fate would be on their side.
