Chapter 1 The train was making slow movements, making Livia's eyelids heavy. The motion always made her sleepy, no matter how excited she was. She felt someone take her hand and a smile appeared on her lips naturally. She looked down at his pale skin, reddish from squeezing her fingers in his, and her lips curled more. She replied to his grip and allowed herself to lay her head on his shoulder. Not expecting his next move, she barely jumped when he placed slowly his head on hers, a lock of his blond hair falling near her eyes.
Draco Malfoy. Everyone thought he was rude, cruel, almost evil... But what Livia saw in him was totally different. And once again, he was proving to her that she made the right choice. Saying 'yes' when he asked her out two years ago was the best move she's ever made. He had feelings. She had seen it in his gray eyes when he looked at her, waiting for her answer. He was scared. He wanted it. The question was real, and the answer would have a real impact on his happiness. She didn't have to think for long.
"Still stuck to each other?"
Livia raised her nose in a grimace at the girl entering the wagon. She closed the door behind herself and took a seat in front of them, a weird glance on her face. Not that it was unusual. After all, Pansy Parkinson never really was a sweet girl. The fact that she had always wanted to be Draco's special girl didn't help, and Livia was not really sure why she kept hanging out with them, knowing that Pansy hated her for the unique reason that Draco had feelings for her. Pansy and her used to be quite close, if anyone can really get close to someone like Pansy, but as soon as she found out about the new attraction Draco felt for her friend, the somewhat friendship she shared with Livia transformed into some rivalry relationship. Most of the time, Livia ignored her rude comments, knowing it was not worth it. After all, there was no competition for her : she already had the lover she wanted.
"Hey to you too, Parkinson." Draco replied bitterly.
Livia noticed Pansy's expression change for only a second before to go back to normal. The fact that Draco called her by her last name was something she had never been found of. Livia tried to suppress the smile forming on her lips but she knew Pansy had seen it, making her anger grow. The brunette layed against the back of the bench, crossing her arms and moving her mean gaze to the window. Livia sighed subtly as she felt Draco's hand squeeze her fingers, sending a rush of security and well-being all over her body.
The rest of the ride was silent. The warmth of the blond boy's breath made Livia even sleepier, her lips curling at his scent. If anything, this moment felt like perfection. When the train stopped, everyone started to get off, luggage in hands. Draco and Livia got up too as he moved his arm around her waist.
"Need some help?"
Livia didn't have to look : she knew Pansy has grimaced. No one had ever seen Draco as a caring person, or even less, a gentleman, but when Livia decided to give him her heart, she, along with many others, had discovered a different side of him, a sweet side. He didn't seem to notice the changes in his own self, but there was no doubt about it. He was a different person around his girlfriend.
"No, thanks dear." Livia refused with a smile. "I'll meet you outside."
Draco nodded, knowing that the problems girls could have together were too complicated for him. He slid his hand on Livia's back before bending down to kiss her lips and he left the wagon, leaving the two girls together.
"I'm sorry Pansy." Livia apologized when the door close behind her boyfriend.
The petite girl tilted her head waiting for an answer that never came. Pansy turned to her with a frown, not expecting this sudden and unplanned conversation.
"This is not just an infatuation. I really love Draco, and I like to believe he sends it back." Livia kept explaining. "This was not meant to hurt you."
After so many years of pretending Pansy's feelings had not been hurt, Livia couldn't take it anymore. She wouldn't leave Draco for anything in the world, and Pansy had to know that. She could accept it or not, it didn't matter anymore.... as long as Draco's feelings for her didn't change.
Ginevra Weasley's red hair moved behind herself as she ran towards the castle, trying to bring along her boyfriend with her, pulling on his hand. Harry Potter smiled, trying to catch up with her, not wanting to refrain her enthusiast. Their relationship was rather new, and although everyone around school seemed to be discussing it behind their backs, it didn't matter to them. Harry was used to this kind of behavior from the other students, as he was infamous around the magic world. As for Ginny, she never really cared about what people thought of her, and could easily defend herself. It was something that attracted him. This part of her personality was glowing, just like her big brown eyes when she smiled, and it always made his lips curl.
If someone had told him some years ago that he would end up dating his best friend's sister, he would have laughed. After all, Ginny was a little girl to him, not a potential lover. That is, until the middle of the school year, when he actually noticed how much she had grown, and how pretty she had turned. Sometimes, it was awkward, but it was totally worth it.
"Come on, Harry!" she hurried him before her sweet laughter came to his ears
A grin on appeared on his face as Ron and Hermione joined them.
"A new year in Hogwarts." Hermione whispered for herself as Ginny let go of her boyfriend's hand to meet her best friends whom she had not seen of all summer.
Harry watched her from afar before to turn to his own best friends.
"I still wonder if you came home this summer to spend time with me, or with my sister." Ron invoked, only half-joking.
"Don't be so jealous, Ronald." Hermione replied. "Besides, I bet you spent a lot of time with that girlfriend of your own."
Hermione had only spent some days at Ron's house during the two months off, for the simple reason she had traveled the country to see a part of her family she had not seen in a long time. She knew she was not really missed, for the simple fact that both her best friends had girlfriends now. It didn't bother her as much as she thought it would. Besides, she enjoyed Ginny and Julie's company.
As if on cue, Julie ran towards them, throwing herself in Ron's arms who awkwardly put his arms around her waist as she kissed him fully on the lips.
"Ginny says she's keeping a place for you next to her in the great hall." Julie informed, smiling at Harry.
He thanked her and ran up the castle's stairs, hearing "how cute." behind himself, making him shake his head with a smile. He was not sure if Ron had really accepted the fact that Ginny and him were meant to be, and although he cared a lot about his best friend, he wouldn't break it off with Ginny for him. She was too important for him, and he knew that at some point. Ron would get over it. After all, they were not only best friends anymore, they were also family. Or at least, they could be later on, in some years from now.
Taking seat next to his girlfriend at the Gryffindor's table, Harry realized how lucky he was. Ginny turned away and kissed him deeply in front of everyone. It seemed ironically magic when they kissed, and Harry closed his eyes to enjoy the moment. When she moved further, she smiled to him, her eyes sparkling. She had been waiting for so long to get Harry's attention... so many years had passed before he realized that they were soulmates... she could barely believe he was now hers. She was lucky, and she knew it.
