[Prologue] One last time, Livia Smith checked the content of her luggagges, repeating outloud but low, the list of things she had to bring. Her hands roamed on the room in search of something she could have forgotton, and she smiled with a nodd, trusting herself for having everything. Her fingers slided on her wand and the smile she was wearing turned into a sad one at the thought of her last year in Hogwarts.
"Don't forget this."
Livia looped up in surprised and her glance met her father's piercing blue eyes. He was holding an old teddy bear with two different eyes ;; one brown, and the other had been replaced by a gray button. Livia laughed silently and shook her head.
"No thanks, I think I can live without it, this year."
When she was younger, she'd always have nightmares about her past, until she realized this teddy bear was the cause of them, and ever since, it was simply sitting on one of her desks in her room, remembering her how worse things can always be.
"Are you sure?" John asked, concerned, sitting on his daughter's bed.
Now that he was sitten, their eyes were on the same level and Livia grinned, getting closer to him. She put her arms around his neck and layed her head on his shoulder in a quick hug.
"I'll be fine, don't worry for me."
"You're right." John said after a moment of silence. "Maybe it's time to put teddy in a box."
He handed it to Livia, and she knew why. One last time, she took the bear in her hands, bringing her somewhere she wasn't sure she liked.
Livia stood in a room, the walls colored in pink, as a younger version of herself was on her knees, in front of a bed with white sheets. Her hands together and her eyes closed, she was adressing a prayer to the only person she could trust.
"Dear God, please, make mommy and daddy love me again." she heard her ownself whisper.
Livia moved closer to the wall, sticking herself to it and closed her eyes, waiting for the vision to stop.
"Here, put it there."
Coming back to reality, Livia threw the teddy in the box John was handing to her with a disgusted look, and contained herself from letting tears fall down.
"Are you sure you don't want to see your real parents again?" John asked cautiausly.
"What real parents?" Livia denied. "You're my father, no one else."
John nodded as if he understood, but remained silent. All he wanted was for her to be happy, and he'd do everything he could for that.
"Dad, they abandoned me." she said, sitting next to him. "You were there for me while they thought I was a freak."
"Don't judge them too quick, darling." John tried to explain, putting sweetly his hand on her shoulder. "They didn't understand."
Livia calmly shook her head negatively.
"No one should ever abandon their child. Not even because they have visions."
Once again, John nodded and sent an affectionated smile to his daughter. The first time he saw her, he could barely believe he was meeting an other person who had visions like him. She was sitting in a corner of the room, and when their eyes met, all he could think about was how sad she seemed to be, and how strong he wanted to help her. Some weeks later, they were sharing each other's lifes, and John knew it was the best thing he could do with his life.
He was shocked to find out some years later that not only she could see the future and the past, but she was also a witch. He had remained open-minded, now believing anything could happen, and had accepted for her to go to Hogwarts.
"You're ready? We're leaving early tomorrow, you know it, right?"
Livia rolled her eyes with a smile and patted his shoulder lightly to rassure him. They both reached Livia's bag at the same time, and John was brought into a vision he had not expected.
"Can I borrow your owl, sweeatheart?" John asked when his vision ended. "I'd like to send a word to your director."
"Sure." she answered, raising her shoulders. "I need a shower anyway."
He waited until she was out of the room and started scribbling some words on a paper quickly, nervosity invading him as he felt his heart beats louder inside of him.
He had to stay close to his daughter, this year, or something was going to happen to her... something he would never let happen.

[Chapter 1] Time had stopped suddenly as Livia's arm brushed someone's coming from the opposite direction, and she tried to accelerate the vision in front of her eyes. She had tons of them everyday, and didn't particularly like it, which is why she tried to avoid touching anyone she didn't know. After a while, she decided to do exactly like her father, and refuse to shake hands with people she'd just meet. People would take it as rude, but she preferred it to having to explain her powers to someone who would probably never believe her. Even in Hogwarts, her magical school, barely anyone was aware of Livia's visions. Of course, Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster, knew everything about it, because he had followed Livia's life closely, even before she started to learn in his establishment, but he kept it a secret to everyone, even the teachers. Once, Livia had confided in Professor McGonagall, the only teacher she really felt close to, and it turned out being a very good thing, for she now had someone who understood her and could help her anytime. It was very weird for a lot of people, that a slytherin would be so close to the head of gryffindor's house, but Livia felt connected to her in a special level.
The only ones who knew everything about her powers were Livia's best friends. She had met Julie when they were kids, and their magic powers made them bond quickly. Both of them being from muggle families, they had no idea what was happening to them, and at some point, they lost touch. Livia's parents had abandoned her, and John Smith had taken care of her. It's only when Livia started her first year at Hogwarts, that she saw Julie again, and although they had spent so long away from each other, it felt like nothing had ever came between them.
She had met Andie in her first year, and when she had bumped into her in the hall, she had only seen Andie missing a stair and hitting her head on the cold floor. She had seen her father try to explain his powers to so many people, and although he didn't really care that people believed him or not, it was always hard to see her father disappointed. Instead to tell Andie, she had followed her all day long, and before the accident could happen, she had quickly grabbed her to help her get her balance back. With that other touch, Livia had seen Andie and her laughing together, and she knew they were meant to be friends.
The three of them had met Charlie some months later, and her kindness shocked them. She had heard about Livia's father, and as a naturally curious ravenclaw, she had wanted to find out more.
All of them had kept Livia's secret for all those years, so Livia could escape the rude comments, and the laughters. They had helped her go through everything tough revolving around being a medium, and she owed them more than she could give back.
"Livia!"
Getting out of her thoughts, the brunette looked up to see Julie getting in her wagon and closing the door behind her.
"Ready for a new year?" Julie smiled.
Julie had been sent to gryffindor, and Livia could understand why. She was beyond courageous, and strong, and everyone seemed to be her friend. She had this charm no one could resist to, and Livia felt jealous of her most of the time. Her pale skin, dark eyes and flawless face attracted everyone of the opposite sex, but the only one she had eyes for seemed to be too blind to see it.
"Always!"
The only thing she didn't appreciate about being in Hogwarts, was being far from her father. Sure, she had her friends, but only John could completely understand her, since he lived the exact same thing every day. She sent him a letter every time she had a new vision, and he replied just as fast as he could. She liked getting his letters, if simply to get a vision of him writing it, when she touched the envelop. Although it was not real, it made her feel closer to her father, and it made her go through the day.
"Hello girls!"
Charlie and Andie sat down in front of them, and Livia sent them a smile. It was incredible how each of them completed each other, even if they were all from a different house.
Charlie was also beautiful, and always had her nose behind a book. Her good judgment, her maturity and her intelligence were too obvious to miss, but her gorgeous blue eyes made guys stare all the time. Unfortunately, she was too busy learning and reading to notice any of them.
Andie had been sent in hufflepuff, and her house too, did suit her. She loved helping, and accepted anyone, no matter what. Livia had been scared she'd think wrong of a slytherin following her, but Andie never judged before to know someone. Even then, she was kind, knowing that everyone had flaws, but deserved some love. On anyone else, it could have easily annoyed Livia, but no one could be annoyed with Andie. Her angel-face had brought a lot of admirers, but she had already found love in Neville Longbottom, a gryffindor, and he easily returned the sweetness Andie gave him. It was obvious to Livia, they were made for each other.
"Once again, we'll stick to each other all year will we?" Andie suggested.
"Of course!" Julie affirmed, her lips curling.
"We're best friends, aren't we?" Livia added, extending her hand in the air, right in the middle of them.
"You said it, girl!" Charlie grinned, putting her hand on her friend's.
Julie laughed and did the same, as Andie placed hers on the top.
"To our friendship." she proposed.
The three others replied in unison, and burst into laughter again.
It would be a good year, Livia felt it from her head to her toes. She just had no idea how good... +sorry... not super good +thanks Julie, Ray & Andie ily! +Livia<33 [c]2008
